surfing

aim
The aim of surfing refers to be standing up on a surfboard while the wave rider (surfer) rides the wave. It looks easy, but it’s not, is quite difficult. You can do surfing in oceans, rivers, lakes and artificial wave pools. Surfing is a very fun sport.

equipment
The equipment you need for surfing, are these: a board, for surfing, the wave, a leash, to be safer, a stomp-pad, a rash-guard and a wet-suit gear, which isn’t obligatory, you can also use a swimming costume.

rules
The rules of surfing are these ones: (you may think they’re easy but you have to be careful). When you are surfing with some other people, doesn’t force a surfer to drop out of the wave, the person riding the wave has the right of wave. You also have to be careful and avoid getting in the way of others, and a very important rule is, to keep an eye out of swimmers if you don’t want them to be with you on the surfboard. As you’re surfing; it would be safer if you just don’t ever surf beyond your abilities. Finally, for surfing, make sure you have all the equipment you need because if you don’t have it, how are you going to surf? And it would safer if you don’t ever surf alone because the ocean is too big for you to get lost.

The skills you need for surfing are these ones. Flexibility, endurance and balance so you can be in the board, more times  than in the water.

BENEFITS (HEALTH)
The health benefits of surfing are these ones: it improves your cardiovascular and heart health, it’s good for your back muscle tone, shoulders, also as you’re surfing you get lot of endurance, it also increase your energy and it may extend your life.
OTHER BENEFITS
Some other benefits are that you’ll look cool and everybody would be looking at you. You’ll also become more popular and there will be friends waiting for you to teach them. Also you’ll have boys/girls all around you, looking at you all the day

Some interesting facts you’ll like to know, are these ones: In Pororoca, the ever ride on a wave, was 37 minutes, which is impressive.
The biggest wave recorded, was 530 meters in Lituya Bay (the ones who don’t know where it is found, is found in the southern coast of Alaska.)
If you want job that is fun, you don’t need to sweat and you don’t have to study lot of books, you can do like Kelly Slater did, who was the highest ever paid surfer which was paid 3million dollars as 9th time world champion surfer

Rhythmic Gymnastics is a sport that provides a perfect posture, (which is very important in this age), grace and takes out that good memory “brainy-person” that we all have inside for the performance. This type of gymnastics combines ballet and apparatus manipulation that will give you an incredible sense of balance and flexibility in life. But no just you; your friends, your mates, your family and even your neighbor will leave their sofas to go and see your performance with just two or three classes!!

What do you need to do?

Judges will look at the shapes and movements of your body or apparatus. The amplitude, direction and speed are essential. Anyway, the judges will give you more points. They will look for leaps, balance, your flexibility and your artistic effect. So you know, it’s all about practice, practice and more practice!!









Object/Aim of the sport

On the other hand, rhythmic gymnastics is a women’s sport. It can be practiced individually or in groups of 5. (Gymnastics even practices your group work!) If that’s the case and there are multiple gymnasts, there must be at least two apparatuses through the group. Whereas if it is played individually, there must be at least one apparatus in constant movement, which is quite awesome to see, trust me. Obviously, it is performed on the floor and the maximum length of the routine is from 1.5 to 2.5 minutes. As you see gymnastics will also provide you super speed; so say goodbye to the detentions for arriving late at school!
